Cactusmania presents new plants and rare cactus
Cactusmania by Manera participates at IPM 2024 presenting new plants and rare cactus to the professional market
Ventimiglia, Italy: This morning Annarita Manera, owner of Cactusmania announced the new collection “Terra” that will be introduced at the international show IPM Essen, January 23 – 26, 2024. Cactusmania will expose in Hall 6 Stand 6B38.
“Terra” is a collection of cactus and succulents based on an innovative assortment cultivated in a traditional Italian terracotta pot. New varieties are introduced in the European Market thanks to the new “Terra” pot like Mangave® Praying Hands. ‘Praying Hands’ is a plant with dark green leaves that turn towards the clear blue sky. A narrow, artichoke-like rosette with reddish-brown terminal thorns. Praying Hands has a very compact habit and grows up to 25 cm in height and width. This super succulent is drought tolerant. You hardly have to worry about its cultivation! A unique and robust succulent that steals the show both indoors and outdoors and, being a real sun worshipper, is the perfect addition to the exotic terrace. Mangave Praying Hands is a hybrid between two species, a Mangave ‘Bloodspot and Agave ocahuii, chosen by Annarita Manera for the brazen beauty of the plant, which perfectly matches the handmade Italian terracotta ‘Terra’ pot. It is the slowest of the Mangave hybrids but is also the only one with such a unique habit and colouring! All Mangave are plants protected by European PBR and managed by Plantipp in Europe.
Other unusual plants like Echeveria Trumpet pinky, Echeveria pulvinata Devotion, Euphorbia mitriformis and Ceraria namaquensis make part of this incredible collection.
Rare Caudex plants will be cultivated and presented in the new pot! The Caudex is the thickened persistent stem base of some succulent plants. This special shape gives to the plants an unusual habit which is considered to be fancy and very attractive. New plants and new concepts will be introduced by Cactusmania taking inspiration from the mediterranean mood of the Liguria costs. Red stone, white sands, blue sea and deep sky make the perfect scenario for the Cactusmania new entries.
“Terra” – Italian soul
The perfect plant is the plant that can grow without man: a strong and decorative plant, beautiful and easy to grow. With “Terra” Cactusmania grouped a selection of succulent plants chosen for their resistance showing them off in a handmade Italian Terracotta pierced pot. They are plants designed to be kept indoors, on the patio with a saucer during winter, or outdoors, on the balcony, during summertime. Also, part of “Terra” are some unusually shaped plants called “Naturaliformi”, natural-looking succulent and cactus plants such as Caudex. To guarantee an even more various and adaptable assortment, “Terra” also includes a range of heat-resistant, but above all cold-resistant succulents. And finally, for decoration of larger rooms, several large succulents have been selected. This last selection is grown in large pots of 21 or 27 cm diameter that can create a garden with just a few elements.
“Terra” is a selection of succulents grown in “Terra”cotta pots and decorated with horizontal waves that is simple and easy to use.
